Making the Wedge

I wanted to use the mill as much as possible, it so much easier to keep things square. It is basically a giant router so it mills wood quite nicely (although the max RPM is only 5,000 vs the 15,000 of a router so the cut isn’t as smooth). So I designed the shape so it was almost entirely machine shaped: the ramps and curves are cut from the top and sides by tilting and turning the wood in the vise.

After milling, I cut out the wedge in the bandsaw and do the final shaping with files.
